This innovation is on Computing Technology applied to Agriculture using a technology of Radio Frequency Identification (RFID). The focus of interest is to develop an Electronic Breeding Management System using radio frequency identification technology. A specific application is in fishery.
The traditional rearing methods of fishing is for, farmers to harvest fish only once or twice a year. With the introduction of radio frequency identification (RFID) technology monthly harvests are possible. The primary interest of consumers is to receive the information about the food they purchase and consume. They want to know more about the food composition, the origin of materials, the process history, and handling actions during the delivery. The main problem is how to monitor the ecology of animal husbandry with a traceability system in the production and distribution processes. RFID technologies provide this solution. The system that is developed will track the development of the broodstock and supervise crossbreeding program to improve the species through RFID. The RFID chips can be select species during the project. The tags is inserted into the tiny juvenile creatures. To keep the system simple, the tags will only include a serial number to identify the individual. Other information, such as the fish's breed, its growth and diet, can be maintained in a database.
