Dr. Yetunde Folajimi is a Lecturer of Computer Science at University of Ibadan, Nigeria. With specialization in Artificial Intelligence, Dr. Folajimi’s research is predominantly directed at Serious Games and E-Learning including Digital game based learning and Social Network. A significant proportion of her research is devoted to application of computer games and e-learning technology for health and safety education, adult education, Child Education, youth empowerment and women empowerment. She currently directs the Intelligent Systems group Dr. Folajimi is a recipient of the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Award (2009), the Commonwealth Professional Fellowship award (2012) and the Institute of International Education (IIE) Women Enhancing Technology (WeTech) Award (2014). She was a Research Scholar at the Laboratory for Computational Intelligence, University of British Columbia, Vancouver, BC Canada (2009) and Personalised Adaptive Webs Laboratory, University of Pittsburgh, PA USA (2010). She was also a Research Fellow at the Center for Computational Intelligence, De Montfort University, Leicester, UK (2012). She has delivered papers at various national, international and regional conferences/workshops and events; having over 25 referred publications to her credit. She is a regular Reviewer and Editor for Nigerian and International conferences and Journals including Nigeria Computer Society, Association of Learning Technology (UK) and International Journal for Computer Game Culture. Dr Folajimi is a Fellow of British Computer Society (BCS) and also belongs to many national and international Organizations such as Nigeria Computer Society (NCS), Computer Professionals Registration Council of Nigeria (CPN), Association of Computer Machinery (ACM), Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), Association of Learning Technology (ALT) and American Association of Computing in Education (AACE). She actively participated as an Executive of Nigeria Computer Society (Ex-Officio) from 2007 to 2011 and served as a Council Member of Computer Professionals Registration council of Nigeria (CPN) in 2011. She has served in the conference committee of NCS for several years. She was a Programme Committee member of 2012 international conference of the Association for Learning Technology (ALT-C 2012) and currently a member of ALT Membership Services Committee. She is also the international liaison for the International Conference on e-Commerce, e- Administration, e-Society, and e-Education (e-CASE). Dr. Folajimi is the Director of the Global Centre for Information Technology, Empowerment and Education (i-TEE), a non-governmental organization that provides professional and developmental prospects and access to knowledge through the use of computer and related technologies. An Institute of International Education (IIE) Women Empowering Technology (WeTech) Seed Fund Grantee, Dr Folajimi is involved in coordinating various activities to increase the interests and participation of women, girls, children and youths in Computer science such as Nigeria Geek Girls Camp (www.computergeeky.org),Nigeria girls and women hackathon (www.computergeeky.org/nigathon.html),Computer whiz kids day out (http://www.i-tee.org/computer-whiz-kids.html). She has participated in several international workshops and conferences and has conducted a number of workshops on Technology empowered Education in Nigeria and abroad. Dr Folajimi is the Coordinator of the International Research Consortium on Information Technology Innovations (RECITI), an event targeted at drawing together, young and experience researchers for the purpose of mentoring.
